ROLLS ROYCE & ACID is the weekly mixed media journal of Nick Ebeling.
“I’ve been stuck in traffic behind the wheel of a temperamental car thinking about obscure music and cinema ever since I can remember.”
Born in Los Angeles, Nick Ebeling is a filmmaker, artist, and author. His first feature film, the critically acclaimed Along for the Ride - a documentary about Dennis Hopper, The Last Movie, and Hopper’s subsequent Hollywood exile in the wake of Easy Rider - was an Official Selection of The Venice Film Festival (which Huffington Post called “beautiful, powerful”).
Most recently, Ebeling’s first novel Earthquake Weather - a uniquely dark punk coming-of-age vision set against the final days of film school in the rapidly changing Los Angeles of 2001 - was released with Hat and Beard Press. A companion photography and fine art exhibition of Ebeling’s work opened at These Days Gallery in Los Angeles.
“Earthquake Weather is the best about Los Angeles since Charles Bukowski’s Hollywood” - Stephen Berkman, Artist
“The touching and hilarious story of adventures in the film educational complex. Stoop low, aim high, have an attitude, never stop working, get it while you can, these are the by-laws and watchwords. Cool read.” - Richard Edson, Actor Stranger Than Paradise, Walker
“Perfection, as practiced, is very much the result of this excellent noir tale of art, passion, and sensuality - A beautiful love letter to Los Angeles and all of it’s demons.” - Tosh Berman, Author of Tosh: Growing Up in Wallace Berman’s World
A graduate of The Art Center College of Design, Ebeling resides in Los Angeles, California.
